Meet Our Team

IPH aims to bring excellent psychological services to children, adolescents and adults.  We care about the art and science of psychological health treatment and believe in a wellness-focused, mind-body approach to care! Our providers are highly trained, caring and compassionate. We work collaboratively with patients and their other health providers, and advocate to decrease stigma surrounding mental illness. We have similar values in regard to treatment, being person centered in our approach to care, and utilizing evidence (research) based gold standard treatments. Our providers are doing their best to improve the psychological outlook of our patients, knowing that there is no "us versus them" when it comes to mental and physical health.

Our providers are independent contractors with the practice. If a treatment issue arises, please inform your individual provider.

Psychologists:

Dr. Adriana Faur, Ph.D.

Dr. Faur’s approach to psychotherapy guides people into gaining understanding in the ways in which they shape and are shaped by their life experiences. It is with this insight that individuals will obtain relief from distress, and be able to progress toward their life goals.  As Viktor Frankl described, human beings may not only survive, but flourish even under the direst of circumstances. This growth is possible through a journey of self-discovery within a trusted collaborative therapeutic relationship. Dr. Faur's person centered, humanistic approach in therapy is caring, empathic, accepting and prizing. Therapy goals are made in collaboration, based on each person's unique concerns. Dr. Faur believes in an interdisciplinary team approach to care.

In the treatment of adults, Dr. Faur uses a combination of therapy techniques including process experiential (emotion focused) therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Assertiveness Training, Social Skills training,  Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Mindfulness training. Dr. Faur became certified in CBT by the Cleveland VA in 2013. Dr. Faur became certified in telebehavioral health through the Telebehavioral Health Institute in 2018, in order to help clients have access to individual therapy, who may not be able to come in for a variety of reasons. This means using a HIPAA compliant video platform to engage in individual therapy with clients who are residents of Ohio. If you are interested in telemental health treatment, please contact us for more information.

With children, Dr. Faur uses a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy, play based techniques and social skills training  to understand and treat a variety of problems. The first goal is to really understand what the child is struggling with, by conducting a thorough psychological evaluation. Dr. Faur then works with parents to develop a plan that works for their child as an individual, whether the problem may be related to anxiety, procrastination, avoidance, depression, stress or various psychological disorders. Dr. Faur has experience working with children, adolescents and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder, helping them develop stronger social skills, improve self-esteem, and decrease anxiety and depression.

Dr. Faur has been seeing patients since her first clinical practicum in 2002. Dr. Faur's training entailed working with children and adolescents suffering from a variety of disorders and life issues (i.e. anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, neglect, grieving, developmental disorders, and autism) while a graduate student at Cleveland State University and University of Toledo. Dr. Faur was a psychology fellow in Psychiatry at the Boston University School of Medicine/Center for Multicultural Training in Psychology. There she provided intensive inpatient and outpatient psychotherapy to adults with diverse biopsychosocial needs. Prior to starting her current practice, Dr. Faur worked with veterans for over four years at the Cleveland VA Medical Center providing individual outpatient therapy. Dr. Faur has been teaching psychology courses for almost a decade at various universities, including University of Massachusetts and Lasell College in Boston, and most recently at Cleveland State University. Dr. Faur’s research orientation has been in the areas of trauma and related disorders, resiliency/growth and multiculturalism.

Dr. Faur values understanding clients' needs from a culturally sensitive perspective.  She is LGBTQIA affirming. She
is bilingual in English and Romanian, proficient in French and has a limited knowledge of Spanish. In her personal time, she enjoys music, yoga, the arts, cooking, reading, chasing her dog and spending time with family and friends.

Social Workers:

Ms. Klare Heston, MA, MSW, LISW-S

Klare begins with the basic counseling axiom: start where the client is. Instead of labeling others’ problems or pain, Klare firmly believes that life rarely unfolds in a straight path, and that we can all find our way. Whether people are struggling with illness, death of a loved one, a learning problem, substance abuse, depression, anxiety, difficult family dynamics, prolonged poverty, a traumatic event, or other emotional, relationship or socio-economic factors, healing can occur. Healing is a dynamic process; it is personal, emotional, physical, relational, nutritional and spiritual.  Klare believes that together with her clients, they will discover the path to personal healing. These paths can involve meditation/mindfulness, better nutrition, better rest, a change of job, improving or leaving a primary relationship, exercise, accepting a human limitation, moving beyond a limitation, changing substance habits, improving communication, or changing characteristic ways of thinking about one’s life. Change involves self-acceptance, risk and transformation. The process can often be accelerated by bringing in a loved one to some of the therapy sessions.

Klare attended the following universities: Kent State, Case Western Reserve, Virginia Commonwealth, and Columbia Universities. Klare was awarded a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University and a 2-Year Post-Graduate Certificate from the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland. She also has doctoral coursework in Adult Learning from Columbia University. She holds certifications in Family Therapy, Supervision, Mediation, and Trauma Recovery and Treatment. She has been greatly influenced by existentialism, Gestalt psychology, Eastern philosophy, systems theory (couples therapy; family), cognitive restructuring, and relaxation theory. She has worked as a therapist in a psychiatric hospital, outpatient agencies, home-based agencies, and clinical private practice.
